What is CBD?
CBD stands for cannabidiol and is one of the active ingredients in cannabis. Currently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved non-prescription CBD products.
Is marijuana different than CBD?
The FDA states that "Marijuana is different from CBD. CBD is a single compound in the cannabis plant, and marijuana is a type of cannabis plant or plant material that contains many naturally occurring compounds, including CBD and THC." While CBD and THC are in marijuana, "THC is the component that produces the “high” associated with marijuana use."
What types of CBD products are available?
There are a large variety of CBD products available on the market but the most common are oils, tinctures, edibles creams, lotions, and vaporizers. CBD products that are derived from hemp and contain less than 0.3% THC are legal federally. However, state and local laws vary from federal laws, so it might be illegal in some states.
What sizes do CBD oils come in?
CBD oil bottles are commonly available in 15 ml, 30 ml, and 100 ml bottles. Many are available with vertical droppers built into the caps.
